Discordia is now accepting character applications and reservations as well as ship and crew applications! If you are coming to us from our affiliate, rizumikaru_yomi, and you are keeping a character you play over there, you do not need to fill out the sample tag and sample journal post, because I've already seen you do it. However, if you are picking up a character you don't hold there, you must fill out the whole application here.

Today I've gone on a pimping spree. I've posted to a ton of generic communities, but there are others out there. If you guys like, please use our advertisement code to get the word out to other communities that we rock and all that.

Also, we've all been sucking about posting lately. I'd like to be more strict about this starting Monday. Consider this your only advance warning--I'll be doing a character check on Thursday.

If anybody else wants to volunteer as a mod, please let me know. Some extra help would be appreciated.

Rufus here. I just wanted to draw everybody's attention to a few things before we start tonight at midnight, EST.

First of all, the Rules, the FAQ and the Planet List have been updated. The Galaxy Map will be updated later today. A link to the FAQ has been added to every page of this community. Every journal/community has links to every other journal/community. It should be fairly easy to navigate, but all the same, we'd appreciate knowing if you're having trouble and if so, with what.

Edit: At the moment, I am in the process of adding more, uncaptained ships to discordia_crews. If you would like to be on the crew of one of these, no permission is needed, just fill out a crew application. This goes with any ship you wish to be on, so make sure that even if the Captain's told you yes and you've stated it on your application, you fill it out so that adding you to the crew list doesn't get forgotten.

Over the course of the night and tomorrow, I will be adding another ten or so ships to the list.

Next, I'd like to run through what the different communities/journals are for:

1. discordia_mods: This is the moderators' journal--the almighty seat of power here. Anybody using this journal has Ultimate Power and Authority. Unless, you know, some jerk hacks it.
   
2. discordia_rp: This is like the brain of the community, where all the new information/members come in and get processed. The rules, applications, character drop/hiatus notification, friends add/remove, reserved characters and wanted characters list are all here.
   
3. discordia_ooc: All of your OOC posts go here. This goes for introductions, random ideas, plotting, pretty things you'd like to share out of character, etc.
   
4. discordia_logs: If discordia_rp is the brain, this is where the heart of it is, where the action is taking place, pumping plot through our veins... or at least through our service providers. All logs, obviously, go in the logs community. I'll have one up by tonight when we open as an example. These should all be tagged as instructed in the Tagging Tutorial.
   
5. discordia_ships: This is the Captains' Logs community. Nobody is to post here unless they are making a log entry for a ship--ideally, Captains only (with the occasional First Mate posting). Again, I'll have an example up at midnight with the proper tags and everything. This community is for keeping track of where all of the ships are. Each log is to be posted as a separate entry and tagged appropriately. Tags are still being worked out, but should be ready tonight.
   
6. discordia_tc: The taken characters list is in this journal to avoid problems experienced over at other RPs wherein the list gets too long with HTMl to add new characters. It is sorted by fandom, in alphabetical order.
   
7. discordia_crews: Here is the list of all of the ships and crews. Later today, a few new, uncaptained ships will be created and added to the list, so anybody who wishes to claim them may. It will be first come, first serve.
   
8. discordia_refs: Finally, this is one of the most important parts of Discordia. IF YOU HAVE NOT YET READ THROUGH THIS JOURNAL, WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND DOING SO! The References journal has the planet list (with instructions on adding more), Roleplay Etiquette 101, how to tag your logs in discordia_logs, and glossaries of both roleplaying, and ship-related terminology. There is also a list of Archadian Military ranks, the story setting/plot, a list of the technologies available, and the FAQ. We'd really love your input on fleshing out a lot of this stuff, so if you can think of anything to be added to those, please, comment to the entry whatever you thought of in your genius brain and we'll get it on it. We're fast.
   
9. rizumikaru_yomi: This is our affiliate community. It has absolutely nothing to do with our plot/story/anything at all except that half our players and both moderators hail from it. Check it out if the time and inclination strikes you--we have a lot of fun there.
